A funeral is not supposed to be the best thing you attend all year, and yet that is exactly how Shane describes this one, for a 92 year old great uncle, capped off by two of the most remarkable speeches he has ever sat through in his life.
The same weekend brought a phone call about an old friend’s mother nearing the end of her own life, and a story about a young woman who planned every detail before she passed, writing letters and making scarves for everyone she loved, so the people left behind wouldn’t have to figure it out alone.
