At Sunshine Village in Banff, you can get on a chairlift in Alberta and get off in British Columbia, then ski your way back across the line. Shane Hewitt and Ryan O’Donnell use that as the jumping-off point for a wider tour of Canadian places worth adding to the list.
From there it’s the Bay of Fundy, where the tides move at a scale that’s genuinely hard to picture and once inspired an artist to paint a mural timed to vanish and reappear with the water. A whale watching trip off Victoria Harbour rounds things out, complete with a nickname for one species that has everything to do with its breath.
None of these places need an introduction if you already know them. If you don’t, that’s exactly the point.
