A million dollars won on Survivor, and Danny Boatwright spent $10,000 of it on a new hip for his dog. He calls it the best money he ever spent.
Season 3 winner Ethan Zohn co-founded Grassroot Soccer after two former teammates from a Zimbabwean football club approached him post-win. The charity has spent two decades educating teens worldwide on HIV, mental health, and protection through soccer. He also bought his brothers cars, took his mom on vacation, and picked up Bose noise reduction headphones.
On air, texts come in from across the country. One would open a freedom farm sanctuary. Another would move to an Irish village for fog, sheep, and whiskey. One texter from Montreal cuts through all of it: a million dollars doesn’t mean luxury for most millennials anymore. It means stability and maybe a radical dream of not needing a second job.
