ICYMI – Marketing War: Whose Story Are You Actually Living?

War propaganda and the ad served to you thirty seconds ago use the same playbook, and you’re already inside it. Media manipulation lands softest when you’re not looking for it. You absorbed the operation name, the video game nomenclature, the good versus evil framing, and somewhere in there it started to feel like your conclusion. It wasn’t. It was built.

There is a specific feeling that comes with realizing the outrage you felt last week has been quietly replaced. Jeffrey Epstein was everywhere, then it wasn’t, and something louder arrived on cue. The storytelling might of a nation at war and the storytelling craft of a marketer asking you to see yourself in their brand are not as far apart as you’d like them to be.

Stop telling your story and become part of theirs: that is the rule for great marketing and, it turns out, for great propaganda too. Which side of that sentence you’re on matters more than you’ve been asked to consider.

Topics: media manipulation, war propaganda, narrative framing, sports betting fixed, marketing psychology
