Ten years on, Gord Sinclair still remembers exactly what was going through his mind as that final tour began in Victoria, before anyone knew if the band could finish what they’d set out to do. He talks about it now, on the tenth anniversary, the way you talk about something you’ve carried quietly for a long time.
There’s a moment after the last show, far from the stage and the cameras, sitting in a friend’s living room, when Sinclair says the reality of that night actually reached him. It wasn’t during the performance. It was after, once everything had gone quiet.
He also talks about what he’d say to the young man who started this band decades ago, if he could, now that he’s the one left to carry the memory of it forward.
