NEW – Torpedo Bats, Concerts and Wedding Blah

Torpedo Bats

Following a successful weekend debut in Major League Baseball, where the New York Yankees hit 15 home runs (nine in a single game) using the innovative “torpedo” bat, demand for the bat has skyrocketed. The Nightshift is joined by Marie-Pier Gosselin the General Manager of Quebec-based manufacturer, B45 Baseball, who says they are struggling to keep up with the surge in orders for this new bat design, which redistributes the barrel’s weight closer to the hitter’s hands. B45, which employs 10 people at its facility in Quebec City, has ramped up production and expects to start shipping more bats to pro players by the end of next week. The company has received 30 requests from major leaguers and dozens more from amateurs from around the world in the last few weeks. Check out https://www.b45baseball.com/

Bob’s Bits

Bob Addison joins the Nightshift, for Bob’s bits. Bob recently attended a concert, in Seattle, with an old friend, Matt MacArthur, who is now a musician. The conversation then shifts to memories of Shane’s and Bob’s past work together, and their shared experience in a small radio studio. Bob also recounts a funny incident at his own wedding in Mexico where the judge’s limited English made the ceremony quick. The conversation concludes with anecdotes about other weddings, including one where a priest used “blah blah blah” mid-ceremony and another where a wedding dress malfunction and uninvited pool dives added to the festivities.
