A phone notification during a work meeting nearly brought someone to tears tonight, over a video game that’s been sitting untouched for more than a decade suddenly getting a second life out of nowhere.
That reaction leads into a real list, handwritten fifteen years ago, thirty-four items deep, falling apart at the folds. A few of those goals already happened without anyone realizing it until now. Others involve tanks, superheroes, and at least one driver’s license that still doesn’t exist.
Some entries are small and ordinary. Others are the kind of goal that only sounded reasonable at fifteen years old, and the gap between the two says a lot about how a list like this actually gets built.
